Tamil superstar Rajinikanth's much-awaited film 'Enthiran' (Robot in Telugu and Hindi) has opened to packed theatres in Malaysia.
The film features Rajinikanth in dual roles, as a science professor and a super-intelligent android robot. Aishwarya Rai and Danny Denzongpa play the other lead roles.
According to the Star, Enthiran has been released in over 2,000 prints, the biggest ever number for an Indian film.
The film is being shown in over 300 screens outside India, which also makes it the largest worldwide release after 'Spiderman'.
G. Suresh, a temple priest, said that he and two other priests came to catch the screening after the morning prayers.
"Our pooja time is usually between 7am and 11am. So, we were fortunate to be able to catch the movie in between our work," the newspaper quoted Suresh, as saying.
Businessman W. Muralidharan also saw the movie with his wife on the first day of its release at the Lotus Five Star cinema.
"I came here as the earliest screening of the movie in Sungai Petani is only at 3pm, and since Friday is not a working day in Kedah, I decided to bring my wife M. Nilaveni and three children over here," Muralidharan said.
The movie has also been released in China, Japan and Europe, where Rajinikanth has a huge fan following. (ANI)
